Pull the text out of a picture so you can copy, edit or search it.
What it does
It reads the text in a photo or screenshot using OCR and returns it as editable, selectable text — in English and Arabic.
How it works
- Upload an image containing text.
- Zegi reads it with OCR (PaddleOCR primary, Tesseract fallback).
- Copy the extracted text or export it.
Supported formats
Input: PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP. Output: text (copy or export).
What you get
Editable text you can copy or export to Word, Excel or PDF.
Important limitations
- Accuracy depends on image quality; blurry, low-light or heavily stylized text is harder to read.
- Handwriting recognition is limited compared with printed text.
Privacy & your files
Your files are processed on Zegi's own servers — never sent to a third-party AI service — and are removed automatically after processing. See our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy for details.
